Since the launch of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a colorful mix of characters, and a gripping narrative featuring angels, demons, and malevolent powers expanding in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Key plot points for the latest installment of the new season follow below.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
The latest chapter concluded with a major cliffhanger and introduced the initial group of adventurers who will split off from the primary party to undertake their independent quest, distinct from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor Pridesire (played by Travis Willingham), Thimble (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan (the actor).
The Reason for Division
Considering a large ensemble, it was evident from the beginning that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
This explains, the initial installments of this story serve as an Introduction, weaving together the characters’ stories before branching into three smaller tables: Warriors, Schemers, and Seekers.
What Defines the Combat Party
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for players who prefer a traditionally charged fight-heavy gameplay experience where non-violent answers are rare.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer the cleric might appear unsuited, but the actions of the third episode demonstrate why these five characters are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the party understands precisely where to proceed after a brutal first encounter with the antagonists.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose death kicked off the narrative’s action—exploited The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, breaking into the secret base, attacking the rogue, and taking all the enchanted items to sell off.
Casimir then paid off his obligations and escaped to a fortified location in the northern region, beyond the urban center, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each character has a personal reason to exit Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as the companion and trusted friend, wants vengeance.
- The adventurer knows the northern area and advises that it is a hostile place.
- The strong character and The cleric, having resisted his family’s wishes to eliminate the fighter and instead freed him, have no other options.
- However, their reputation as important members in House Halovar could enable the group enter locations they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, Teor swore a life debt to The cleric for his rescue and will now follow him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are wanted by the rulers that control the setting for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are known criminals.
- The warrior and The healer turned against the powerful family and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The target is marked for death by the clan.
This means them few options but to travel to the northern region in quest for the traitor.
Future Episodes
Based on the latest episode’s follow-up content, we learn that the Soldiers table will be absent the following episode, leaving the other eight participants to form the Seekers and Schemers tables.
Fans can look forward to learning which players will be in which group in the story’s final introductory chapter, released on the upcoming Thursday.
